The 2020 Japan and Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme involves a full physical examination, blood tests and a full chest X ray service or TB Gold Quantiferon screen. North East based Tees Medical Services Ltd provides this type of visa medical for those intending to work or study in Japan. However, any person wishing to obtain a Japan Visa Medical should check entry requirements with the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office at least 8-12 weeks prior to the intention to travel. You must also check with your transport provider or transport company that your passport and other travel documents meet their requirements.
Complete the pre-medical form which may have been supplied to you by the Embassy or your employer. It is your responsibility to check that you are in possession of the correct form. Please ensure you answer each question relating to your Japan Visa Medical in as much detail as possible. Where possible to do so, please photograph or scan and send your completed form to email@example.com prior to the appointment so that we can check whether you may be subject to any additional requirements. (Where appropriate the Doctor will complete and evaluate the remainder of any uncompleted questions in your presence).
You must bring:
Attend the practice in Teesside ensuring you arrive at least 30 minutes before the appointed time and allow at least 60 minutes for the completion of the medical examination itself. Upon arrival at your appointment, the Doctor will refer to the pre-medical questionnaire and conduct a thorough and detailed work or study Japan Visa Medical. This will include but may not be limited to an ECG, measurement of your height, weight, blood pressure and vision followed by an examination of your respiratory, cardiovascular, abdominal, neurological and musculoskeletal systems. You may also be asked to provide a sample of your urine for analysis.
Your bloods will then be taken to examine or establish:
Chest X Ray Service. Where required this will be performed by one of our approved hospitals located approximately 10 minutes away by car. You will not need to book an appointment under these circumstances but you will need the referral form handed to you by the Doctor undertaking the medical and your passport. Tees Medical Services Ltd will ensure you know where to go and what to do. The Chest X Ray results will be supplied directly to Tees Medical Services Ltd and incorporated into your final medical report. Please note that in the event that a Visa is not granted, Tees Medical Services Ltd cannot refund the cost of your medical. To book your Japan Visa Medical please call us on 01642 988152 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will be supplied with your final report incorporating all the tests undertaken to date. It is strongly advised that any person travelling to Japan has comprehensive travel and medical insurance and abides by its local and national laws at all times.
